The following protocol should be followed by all personnel on SHAI property until such time as the Covid-19 situation is declared resolved by the PEI Chief Medical Officer.

  • All vessels sailing into Souris Harbour Authority from Off Island are to contact the Harbour Authority before arrival for instruction.
  • Only authorized persons with OFFICIAL BUSINESS (Fishermen, delivery personnel, workers, etc) will be allowed on SHAI property.
  • All fishermen and workers must follow buyer protocols as outlined. Failure to abide by agreed guidelines as set out by your buyer/employer will result in your immediate removal from Souris Harbour Authority property.
  • All crew members/workers should follow Provincial Guidelines as found at: princeedwardisland.ca/en/topic/covid-19.
  • Avoid contact with individuals with chronic conditions, compromised immune systems and older adults.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. You can also remove dirt with a wet wipe and then use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cough or sneeze into the bend of your arm or into a tissue.
  • Work stations must be sanitized daily.
  • Use regular household disinfectants or diluted bleach (1 part bleach and 9 parts water) to disinfect.

The above protocol highlights procedures that must be adhered to at all times while on the property of Souris Harbour Authority but does not supersede the policy put in place by the PEI Chief Public Health Office or the workers employment policy.

Sincerely,

Andrew Daggett
